Global Landscapes Forum Bonn 2019: As it happened

On 22–23 June 2019, more than 600 people from across the world gathered at the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) in Bonn, Germany to rally behind a more inclusive and sustainable future rooted in the recognition of the rights of indigenous communities and their irreplaceable role in combatting the climate crisis. Held alongside the UNFCCC’s Bonn Climate Change Conference (SB50), indigenous leaders and representatives stood shoulder to shoulder with policy makers, scientists and youth in their commitment to securing the rights of the world’s 350 million Indigenous peoples, whose ancestral lands contain 80 percent of the world’s biodiversity and nearly 300 billion metric tons of carbon (equal to 33 times 2017’s global energy emissions). The GLF Bonn 2019 Digital Edition was streamed live to 14,000 people from 150 countries and reached 14.2 million people on social media.
